Jim Thome card #264 2001 SP Authentic #15

  • Do you remember when you were a kid, and you would stand up against a door frame and your parents would measure you and put a mark on the wall?  That's what this card reminds me of.
  • Also, Jim's left leg.  All the white at the bottom of the card made 1st base disappear, and it looks as if he's holding his foot in the air for no reason.
  • Career home run #264 was hit 7/22/2001 off of Detroit's Jeff Weaver.  It was a 3-run shot that broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Indians to a 6-3 win.  The ageless one Bartolo Colon pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 runs for his 9th win of the season.
