- 192 singles in a season. Let's wrap our heads around that for a second. There were only 4 players in 2017 that had more than 192 hits (Blackmon, Altuve, Inciarte, Gordon---Hosmer had 192). Of those 4, only Dee Gordon came reasonably close with 170 singles. That might be another number we don't see surpassed for decades.
- I thought that the AL record for singles might have been a lot older than it was, but Ichiro broke Wade Boggs' 1985 record of 187 singles.
- Career hit #8 was Ichiro's first game winning hit, a 2 run homer in the top of the 10th for his 4th hit of the game against the Rangers. Jeff Zimmerman gave up the homer as the Mariners won 9-7.
