- Sheer accident. Happened upon this card at a 5/$1 table at last weekend's card show. That's always the way; when you're not looking for something it pops up.
- Serial # 272/2012. Was surprised to see that I don't have this card or its base card posted at all.
- Market Watch: 4 copies currently on COMC, 3 of them at the $1.74/$1.75 level, for me that's about right. Priciest copy is $3.99 which is a little high, but not outrageous.
- Still can't believe it's been two years out of baseball already for Brett. Still only 28, would love to see him get another chance.

- The cavalcade of parallels and variations of Brett's 2012 Topps card ends here, with the mini version, which can easily be made to look as large as any of the other cards shown to date.
- It's amazing to see the range of prices on cards sometimes on COMC. This card is a good example. 13 copies up for sale currently, low end is 40 cents, mid range 75 cents. Perfectly acceptable. High end....$2.75? Really? Guess people don't mind having their cards sit forever.
- I see that Brett is signed with the White Sox for 2017, $3.5 million. The way things are shaping up on the south side, he may need a program to tell him who his teammates are when spring training rolls around.

- Continuing with the duplicates them on the blog today, I decided to get in a couple of posts for Brett Lawrie, as I really haven't posted much of his stuff in the past 2 months.
- Love, love, love these emerald green parallels. I don't know if it's the color green, or if it's because of the two different shades on the card and how they're mixed together. None the less, for me it really works. To me, it also makes Brett stand out more on the card...
- Bio on the back: Topps did the "With 73 RBI, Lawrie is 2,154 away from Hank Aaron's all time record of 2,227." Now, Brett less than 2000 away, because his career RBI total is at 253. Brett would have to average 100 RBI a season until he turns 46 in order to give Hank a run for his money....

- This card commemorates the 3 HR game that Andrew had versus the Nationals on 8/1/2009. Not a bad way to double your career output.
- This is the 3rd horizontal card so far of Andrew on the blog. Looking through the current collection I have, there's only 3 more horizontal cards to show. I'm only in the 60's now right, so approximately 10% of my McCutchen collection is horizontal...
- I prefer the game used versions of this card, where the jersey is actually cut in the shape of home plate and replaces the logo on the left. The "base" inserts are a little boring to be honest.

- Bio on the back: Topps included Andrew's minor league stats on this card, and there is no indication of the 20+ HR power that he now boasts in the minors. His only full season at AAA Indianapolis he hit just 9 HR and drove in 50.
- One of my favorite parts of PNC Park is the scoreboard on the face of the Clemente wall. I am one of those people that enjoys having the scores from around baseball available when I go to games, so seeing this in the background of Andrew's card reminds me of how much I love PNC Park.
- This is card #497A actually. There is a variation that shows Andrew in a hitting stance in his Homestead Grays uniform with the Pirate mascot on one knee. The 3rd card with #497 on it pictures Roberto Clemente. You can't tell the players (or the cards) without a program anymore...

- I'm still looking for this card's parallel cousin, the mini gold parallel serial numbered out of 61. COMC's cheapest copy is currently at $15. I'm not looking at that price...
- I haven't taken a good luck, but I believe that this is the only mini card that I own among my 5 player PC's. On second thought, there's a bunch of A&G mini's to come so scratch that.
- Career homer #21 was the first of the 2013 season for Brett, and was hit off of Huroki Kuroda of the Yankees. It was a solo homer that came in a 5-3 loss on 4/25/2013.
