- Finally obtained the base card of the Paramount rainbow. I believe I only have 2 colors left to pick up.
- 3 copies of this card currently on COMC, all between $1.20 and $1.25. I remember these packs being expensive back in the day, so the singles seem to be priced about right.
- It's a bit hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this is the base card. I'm so used to gold cards being parallels that seeing one as the base doesn't make sense...

- Thought I had finished the Paramount rainbow with this and another recent eBay purchase, but the emerald green that the seller sent me turned out to be the ice blue. Oh well, not a major deal.
- This will be the final "single" card post of Sakic for the 97-98 year. I have 6 cards left, 3 sets of parallel cards.
- Paid $1.49 for this on ebay with free shipping (PWE of course). No current copies of the red on COMC right now, so I'm glad I didn't hesitate on pulling the trigger.

- Bought this not too long ago off of COMC for $1. Wasn't too sure what I was getting when I made the purchase, all I knew is that I needed it for the Sakic PC. Don't ask me why, but I love the card and it quickly became one of my favorite cards of Joe.
- Also added this to the TDCB as well. That's 2 days in a row I was able to add a card. This will also be the 70th card I've added of Sakic.
- While looking at Joe's career stats, here's one that hit me. Joe was on the ice for 2,220 goals for during his career, getting points on 1,641 of them, or 73.9%. Wayne Gretzky was at 81.2% and Mario Lemieux was 79.6% for comparisons sake. Steve Yzerman not too far behind Joe at 71.5%.

- All 3 cards today were added to the Trading Card Database. The site is just over 12,000 images away from hitting 2 million as of this writing.
- Had these 3 cards today lined up to post for about 2 weeks, but they just kept getting pushed to the side as I'd received quite a few cards for other PCs from trade partners. Definitely not complaining!!
- Goal #234 came against the Hartford Whalers in the last game of the 94-95 season. It was scored on Sean Burke, and helped the Nords to a 4-1 win, their 30th of the season in just 48 games.

- Picture (IE lettering) scanned very dark, which made me think that this might be the Dark Gray version. Tilting the card showed that the silver is the call.
- Also need the base card for this set. Don't know why I have so many cards in my PC's such as parallels/refractors etc. without having the base. Weird.
- Career goal #233 was the 2nd straight goal that Joe scored in a losing cause. It snapped a 6 game goalless streak, but it wasn't enough as the Nords lost 4-2 to the Devils. Hockey fans can pretty much guess who was in net for the Devils that night.

- Been a long time since I've seen the "coolest game on earth" ads that the NHL used to use.
- I have 3 of the 6 parallels; the base card is gold, and I'm missing the Emerald, Red and Dark Gray versions. I haven't looked in a while for them so they may be out there and I just haven't checked.
- Goal #232 was one of the last 3 he scored during the strike shortened 94-95 season. It was scored during a 5-2 loss against the New York Islanders. Tommy Salo was the victim that night.

- When I pulled this card out of the binder I first thought that it was the base card. Then I looked at the rest of the page and saw the 3 versions that I have of the base. So I had to turn this card over to figure out that it was part of the Canadian Greats insert set. Pacific disguised this card very well.
- I've been quite surprised at how many older Sakic cards I've been able to scan in to the Trading Card Database. This card was another one that I was able to add.
- This card is not one that I'm overly thrilled with design wise. Not sure what the thought process was behind the multiple Avalanche logos. If the card celebrates Canadian Greats, why not have multiple red Maple Leafs on the card?
