- I did not think that this card would scan well at all. It didn't scan badly, but the 3D effect distorts the players in the background, diminishing the quality of this card.
- Interesting that on the back of the card, the English portion says Ice Breakers, while the French version translates to Star Players. I guess that the old "same, only different" line applies here.
- This was part of a 40 card set released by McDonald's in Canada. According to the TCDB, cards 21-31 were short printed. Good thing the SPs were a bunch of no names such as Lemieux, Jagr, Roy and Messier. Hate to see if there were any stars in the SPs how much they would go for...

- A little bit of disorganization caused me to have this parallel separated from the base card, which I showed off last week.
- The silver "base" with the pyramid is the only real difference in the two cards. Nothing special really here. The Rink Collection is the more dazzling parallel, and I still haven't spotted any Sakic's of that ilk that I want. The only copy on COMC right now is priced at $2.74, which isn't bad.
- Going a little off topic here, but I was happy to see that Joe didn't sell Duchene and Landeskog at the deadline. Trades for players such as those two will be more profitable come draft weekend.

- 4 different parallels of this card. Rink Collection, Foil, Artist Proof and Premium Stock. Overkill.
- One card I would really like to have from the 96-97 Pinnacle release is the Gretzky/Sakic Team Pinnacle card. Guess for $20 I can pick up the card here...
- Bio on the back: "Joe showed in 1995-96 why, on his draft day, scouts compared him to Wayne Gretzky. In 1995-96, he had 12 two-goal games and 36 multiple-point outings." Would love to know why if he was compared to Gretzky that Joe wasn't even the first player that Quebec took in the draft.
