- In among the boxes and boxes of hockey cards I own, is the complete Border Battle insert set. One of the few insert sets I ever wanted bad enough to go out and complete.
- Bio on the back: "The leader of the NHL's youngest team, he's led the club in scoring in five of his seven seasons". The leading scorer for the Nords in Joe's rookie season? Peter Stastny. Joe lead for the next 4 seasons, then in 92-93 Mats Sundin tallied 114 points, 9 more than Sakic.
- Quite a few copies of this card on COMC right now, 17 to be exact. They range in price from 70 cents (cheap) to $2.75 (not too far off).

- I was kind of surprised to see that this card hadn't been added to the Trading Card Database. Yours truly took care of that.
- Not too smart that Score put Joe's name and position in even lighter gold than the background. Came out almost invisible on the scan.
- 95-96 Score is another set that Beckett has forgotten. Just one copy of this card on the COMC site, listed at $6.99. Not bad...

- The scan comes out very dark, which makes sense since this is the black ice parallel. I believe that these were seeded one per box (36 packs), making them a tough pull.
- I decided to do a two a day of Sakic today, well just because. Now that I have the time on the weekends again to write, I'm going to try and fire off as many of these posts as possible.
- There are 3 of these listed on eBay (none on COMC), ranging from $5.35 to $6.50 (including shipping). Quite reasonable, as there are copies of other players on there that are asking $20+.

- Can't quite tell who the Islanders player is in the background, but it appears that he's about to trip Sakic. For shame!
- Bio on the back: "When I played against him, I knew he was a good player said teammate Wendel Clark. Now that I play with him, I know that he's a great one." High praise indeed.
- Another set that has disappeared from the monthly Beckett listing is the 95-96 Score set. So, I checked out COMC and there's 4 copies of this card available, all between 94 cents and a dollar. Now that's a tight grouping.
