- The scan made the card look a bit like a pair of corduroy pants. I can hear the swishing now.
- Career home run #139 was hit 5/6/98 vs. Scott Erickson of the Orioles. It was Jim's 6th homer of the season, 5 of which came with at least one man on base. That would be the last pitch of Erickson's day, and the Indians would go on to win the game 14-5.
