Andrew McCutchen card #102 2012 Panini Triple Play #165

  • I truly didn't care for this release when it first came out.  No logos (as everyone laments) and the cartoon like drawings didn't appeal to me.  These are starting to grow a bit on me now.
  • I looked at the back and saw the helmet/face portion of the card as part of the 9 part series, and I'm looking forward to picking up the other 8 cards and dedicating an entire page to this set.  Crazy....
  • The remainder of the puzzle pieces are priced anywhere from 51 cents to $1.15 on COMC.  Yes, it's McCutchen but I think that these kinds of cards should still be found in either dime or quarter boxes.

Brett Lawrie card #16 2012 Panini Triple Play # 85

  • Come on Panini!!  Where are the tattoos!!
  • Sitting here looking at this card and thinking about the complaining that we've done over the years about this set.  Now I look at it as, Panini designed a lower cost set that was different than everyone else's.   It was an effort...
  • April 20, 2014, Brett would go 0 for 4 against the Indians in a 6-4 loss.  His average would drop to a low of  .127, a deep hole which over the next two weeks he would climb out of.  More on that next week...
