- It's funny, you think you have a card in your collection for many a year, then someone sends it to you, and you find out you never had it.
- The only card I need now to finish off the YCTG 95-96 run is the gold set winner. So I head over to COMC to find out how much they're going for. $1. Don't need it anymore....
- I have posted 160 cards for both Sakic and Thome. Maybe to keep myself motivated, it's time for a goal. Let's shoot for 200 cards for each of them by the end of March. 56 days to do it. Going to be some 2 a days coming up!!

- Because I'm a slacker I'm punishing everyone with multiple versions of the same card today. Kind of playing catch up really....
- Winner winner chicken dinner!! Joe scored on the 9th of December against the Ottawa Senators. He had a goal and an assist in a 7-3 win in Canada's capital. Peter Forsberg was the big gun that night, with 5 points (2g, 3a)
- I believe that this will be the last card featuring Joe in a Nordiques uniform for quite a while, unless I manage to pick up some older cards of his during Black Friday weekend on COMC. There's quite a lot of cards I want to pick up, so I need to prioritize and try not to stray too far over my budget over the next few days.

- No you're not seeing double, I have shown this card before, but a slightly different version. The February 3rd version can be seen here.
- If you were wondering if this card was a winner, sorry to disappoint but Joe didn't score opening night of the 95-96 season versus the Red Wings. The Avalanche did win 3-2 though on the strength of 2 goals from Valeri Kamensky.

- Loved the idea of this card, collectors pulled these out of packs and if the player scored on the date listed, you won a "really cool" 30 card. Each player had 3 different dates to score on.
- February 3rd, 1996 the Avalanche played the New York Rangers and won. Joe scored two goals that night, so someone could have sent this in and claimed their prize.
- I could go on twitter right now, and tell people that Sakic scored on Glenn Healy that night and would get responses such as "not surprising" and "good". A lot of people from the Great White North did not enjoy listening to Glenn on their hockey telecasts...

- I actually like how this card scanned. The ice looks as if the arena is dark and a little spooky.
- I only recently obtained this card. There was an empty space in the Sakic binder for many, many years.
- Checked out COMC to see what the prices were on this card. Pretty big range, $2.74 to $11.05. I would say somewhere towards the $4-$5 mark is about right for this parallel...

- The higher number cards in the Players Club set were a little harder to spot, as they didn't have the grey border to distinguish them from the base set cards. I'm sure I probably missed a few while opening packs back in the day.
- Career goal #118 for Joe was scored 11/21/91 against their provincial rivals, the Montreal Canadiens. The Nords won the game 5-2, and both of Joe's goals came that night against Rollie the goalie, Roland Melanson.

- Remember what I said yesterday? Making up for missing the other day? Well, today will be a 3 post day. Yep, another 3 versions of the same card. At least they'll be out of the way quicker.
- Joe's career average per game of 0.737 assists per game would give him 60 a season when playing all 82 games. His career high? 69 assists in 1995-96.

- Scan turned out a lot better than I thought it would. I was worried that everything would be really dark when the scan completed, but I was wrong (not the first time, nor the last).
- If I remember correctly, the Platinum Players Club parallels were seeded one per box, meaning finding your favorite player in this format was tough. It took me a long time to find the other Sakic PPC card for my collection.
- Weird: went to look at prices for this card, and there's a TON of them on COMC. 104 to be exact. Almost as if someone found a cache of them and started listing. Wild range of prices as well, the high end is $32.65, while the low end is just 75 cents. Where was that 75 cent card when I was looking for this years ago?!

- Unlike some parallels in other sets, the Players Club parallel was easy to spot. The border gray instead of white, and the Players Club stamp along the left hand side in foil.
- Seeded one per pack, these weren't hard to come by at all. I'm still about 90 cards away from putting together the set. Maybe one day I'll get it together and scoop up the rest.
- 95-96 CC is another set that Beckett has moved to the back burner and not included on their pages. So as always, I move to COMC to get a price range. There are currently 9 copies of the card on the site, ranging from $1.49 (cheap) to $5.25. I would say that this card would normally range in the 2-3 dollar area (my best guess anyhow).

- Insanity, thy name is Collectors Choice. I have 6 cards to show from this set for Sakic, 2 base cards with 2 parallels apiece. A bit of overkill for sure...
- I do like the design of the card. The lettering is easy to read, nothing fancy on the card at all. If I remember correctly, packs were a buck a piece back then, and the quality of these cards were well worth the price.
- There were a lot of cards for Joe in 95-96, I didn't realize how many until I took a look this morning to see how many Nordiques cards were remaining before the transition to the Avalanche logo.
