- Of all the foil cards I've scanned on this blog, this might be the best scan of them all. As usual, it's darker than the normal foil on the card, but the snowy effect looks like it fits here...
- Stats on the back: Joe had some success in the 94-95 season against the Whalers (7pts in 4 games) and the Penguins (6pts in 4 games).
- Career goal #145 was the 6th of the 92-93 season for Joe, scored on 10/21/92 vs. the St. Louis Blues. Joe had a goal and 2 assists that evening, in a 5-5 tie at the old St. Louis Arena. Curtis Joseph was the victim that evening.

- Sakic will probably be the reason I hit 400 posts by the new year. He has so many parallels of base cards coming up, and with my habit of posting both base and parallel the same day now the 2-a-days will make things easier.
- Going off the comment I made the other day about women in the crowd on hockey cards, sure enough there's another one just behind Joe's right arm. That will probably be a theme going forward for Sakic posts...
- I really like this design for Bowman. Nothing too overpowering, the name and team logo are both a decent size, but don't take over the card. The "3-sided border" is different, but works for this design IMO.

- One of the best silver background cards to scan so far, I really like how this card came out. The Avalanche logo in the background looks really sharp in silver.
- Bio on the back: "The Nordiques made the playoffs for only the second time in Joe's career in 1995, and he promptly celebrated by scoring a hat trick in Game 1 on May 6th as Quebec opened the ECQF with a 5-4 victory."
- Unfortunately the Nordiques wound up losing that series 4 games to 2 against the Rangers. The following season is where the Nordiques/Avalanche won the Cup.
