- Another part of the recent Sportlots purchase. Just 50 cents. Have seen a few of these online for a few bucks.
- Just need the Blue parallel in order to complete the rainbow of this particular card. I have never used the Beckett Marketplace to buy a card before, is it easy or a pain in the ass?
- For years I've never been big into inserts, but I think it would be great if a card company brought back something like these cards, based on player performance. This is one of the better ideas of the past quarter century, IMO.

- Realized this evening that I hadn't shown a Potvin card since the 3rd week of January. Tonight is a good reason to start again as the Leafs are returning to the NHL playoffs after a 4 year wait.
- Speaking of playoffs, Felix had 25 career playoff wins for the Leafs, 35 for his career.
- Parkhurst hockey was a solid, if not spectacular set in the mid 90's. Nothing flashy design wise, but good photography and a decent price. I remember buying a lot of it back in the day.

- Did you know? On the back, it says that Bernie Nicholls became the first NHL player ever to record a goal in all three periods and an overtime goal in a win on 11/13/84 against Quebec. Not sure why Parkhurst put this on the card, since Sakic didn't become a Nordiques player for another 4 years after that.
- It does remind me somewhat of older Parkhurst cards, but would rather have had the original design come back. Someone got it right in 2003 when they released a set with the 51-52 design. It will be a while before you see that card here on this blog.

- Take my word for it, the foil is gold. I also never noticed that Joe's position of center is behind the foil. I guess I never really paid much attention to it.
- I was still in Canada at the time, and was able to send away for this set. The back is different from the cards that were inserted into packs. The bio mentions just about every other person on the Nords except for Joe. Wonder why?
- I guess that there must be a lot of these gold sets floating out there, because the 2 copies on COMC are both listed for under a buck. Cheap in my opinion.

- Helluva an idea back in the 90's, tie a "contest" for free cards to how a player fares on certain dates. Sadly, the two games that Joe was scheduled to play in on the card were wiped out by the NHL lockout.
- Think you could solve this question? 9+7+3 That's the "skill testing" question on the back of the card. Don't laugh too hard...
- I have the gold version of this card (next post), but still have to find the green and the blue. Will have to start hunting for those sometime soon.
